This practical guidebook provides occupational hygienists and WHS or OHS practitioners with clear, foundational tools to manage occupational health risks including biological, chemical, ergonomic, radiation and other physical hazards such as noise and vibration. It supports hazard identification, exposure characterisation, risk assessment, and control and management strategies.

The Victorian Government has released the Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) and proposed regulations for the adoption of Safe Work Australia’s Workplace Exposure Limits (WEL) for airborne contaminants. Public comment is open from 19 January to 27 February 2026.
The paper presents findings from a national survey highlighting current workplace practices and identifies opportunities to strengthen worker health protection. The project focused on identifying high-quality leading and lagging indicators of occupational health and safety performance.
